About Me

My name is Jennifer Meyer, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified First Responder Counselor, and Certified Fisher Rebuilding Seminars(TM) Facilitator practicing in Fort Collins, Colorado. I employ an integrated approach to counseling, incorporating many different facets of my clients’ lives into therapy: body, mind, emotion, and spirit. My approach is respectful of all individuals, period–if you’re ready to do the work, I’d love to be in your corner. I provide an understanding, judgment-free zone where you’re encouraged to express your REAL self openly and vulnerably.

I feel so lucky to have found my true calling in being a therapist, and I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you through this process. I believe wholeheartedly in helping people heal so that they can find peace in life and become the most whole, empowered versions of themselves. I feel honored to help foster awareness and growth, and witness these remarkable changes in people. I am dedicated to providing caring, effective therapy to my clients, and I do this by giving the best and deepest of myself and my training.

I work best with mature, committed adult clients who are ready to grow, be honest with themselves, and take responsibility for their decisions moving forward.

The Services I Provide

Individual Counseling

While many of life’s most difficult situations can lead to profound personal growth, what we often don’t feel in those moments is hope or a belief that things will get better. Plus, we are often lacking the clarity, support, and objectivity a trained therapist can provide. This is where Jennifer shines in her work with individuals. Find increased growth and strength, self-awareness, and the focus to achieve your goals.

Couples Counseling

Using evidence-based techniques such as EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) and the Gottman method, I help with a variety of relationship challenges.

How do I get started? It’s fast and easy!

I offer a free, 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss your goals and answer your questions, and for us to determine together whether I am the right counselor for your needs. Finding the right “fit” between therapist and client is crucial to the effectiveness of counseling. The right “fit” consists of everything from my training as a therapist and whether it fits with a client’s needs, to my approach and theories used, to the personalities involved. Trust is essential. The consultation is a chance for you to ask me any questions you have about counseling in general, about my approach, experience, or anything else you’re curious about. It’s also a time for me to ask questions to help me gauge whether I have the time to adequately serve you.

Locations/Formats for Meeting

For your convenience, I offer three formats for counseling sessions:
Traditional, Office-based sessions, Outdoor walking sessions and Telephone or Telehealth (video) sessions. I provide a discreet, warm, and down-to-earth atmosphere where my clients are encouraged and challenged to overcome difficulty and find strength, peace, and empowerment.

My Indoor Counseling Office
(375 E. Horsetooth Rd., Bldg. 2, Suite 201,
Fort Collins, Colorado)

My practice is situated in a quiet, peaceful area, and your privacy is a top priority. My waiting room is cozy, private and discreet, reserved only for my clients, and the entire office layout was created with your comfort, serenity, and privacy in mind.

Nature-based (“walk-and-talk”) sessions

My office is near some beautiful neighborhoods and parks, and sometimes clients (and I) enjoy getting outside to walk while we talk or even sit on the grass and chat. This is always an option if weather permits; just let me know you’d prefer this type of session so I dress appropriately! I have also met clients in other outdoor locations and for longer sessions or rite-of-passage work; please inquire about these services.

Telehealth

I also offer telehealth (video therapy sessions). One of the main benefits of telehealth is that it expands access to care for people who need it most and allows me to provide coaching services to people around the globe.
